The Art of Looking Cute in the Gym

The Art of Looking Cute in the Gym

There was a time when I used to feel almost... embarrassed about wanting to look cute at the gym. I'd spend time picking out an outfit I loved, doing my hair, putting on a little lip gloss, and then I'd wonder if people would think I wasn't taking my workout seriously.

Like somehow caring about how I looked cancelled out how hard I was willing to work.

It's funny when you think about it. But nobody questions the guy wearing his favorite sneakers. Or the athlete who loves a fresh haircut before game day.

But somehow many women were made to believe that if we cared about feeling beautiful while we exercised, we couldn't possibly be serious about fitness. As if femininity and discipline were opposites.

I don't believe that anymore.

I think one of the most beautiful things happening with women today is that we're redefining what strength actually looks like. For years, words like strong, powerful, ambitious, disciplined, and competitive were often described as masculine traits.

But were they ever masculine? Or were they simply human?

Those qualities have never had a gender. But for generations, women simply weren't encouraged to claim them. Now we are lifting heavier, running farther, and breaking records.

Not because we're trying to become more masculine. But because we're finally allowing ourselves to become more fully ourselves.

And here's the beautiful part...

We'd do it while wearing bows, pink matching set, glossy lips, cute hairstyles and accessories that make us feel like us. At Zyoire, we don't believe you have to choose between feeling beautiful and feeling powerful. We're proving that femininity was never the opposite of strength. It was simply just excluded from the conversation.
